The Friends of Aston’s Eyot offer a number of opportunities for local people to get involved in looking after the Eyot and also learning more about the Eyot and wildlife in general.
See the dropdown for ‘Events and Working Parties’ for more info on set events.
These activities include flower and plant identification walks, dawn chorus and birdwatching walks, ditch dipping, bat and moth evenings, bird and bat box building. We also invite people to come along for working parties which take place in the afternoon on the third Sunday of each month. These might be planting trees and shrubs, scything nettles to keep paths clear, erecting tree guards, litter picking and lots more.
On the tabs below you can see some photos from these events. Do click on the links which take you to Flickr where you can see a lot more pictures of each day. If you’ve come along to past events or working parties you may even spot yourself amongst the pictures!! Click on the button in the top right of the screen to start a full screen slide show of the pictures.
We look forward to seeing as many people as possible at these events and working parties. Details are advertised on the display panels at each entrance to the Eyot and members are notified by email – so do join up!! Click here for the membership page
