Two events coming up.
The next last-Sunday-of-the-month working party will be next Sunday 27 August, 2.30 – 4.30 pm. We will work on the wild flower meadow on the right as you walk along the main path down towards the river.
Meet at 2.30 pm at the Jackdaw Lane gate. If you arrive late, you’ll find us if you walk along the main path until you reach the wild flower meadow area. Wear strong shoes or boots and bring gloves. You might want to wear a long sleeved shirt or top for protection against nettles!
We’ll finish with tea and cake as usual.
On Friday 1 September, a Moth and Bat evening from dusk (around 7.30pm) until late
- Moth trapping with bright lights (the moths are released unharmed once identified)
- Bat detecting: bat detectors turn their high-frequency echo-locating calls into audible sound
- Night walks with red light torches to see what’s about
Come any time you like – find us on the wildflower meadow that’s on the right as you walk down the central path in Aston’s Eyot, where we’ll have a “base camp” for the evening. Look out for the lights from the moth traps.
Children very welcome but must be accompanied by an adult.
You may want to bring: warm clothing, thermos & snacks, torch, bat detector if you have one.
This event will be postponed if it’s raining hard.
